Party Funding

Adequate funding is critical for political parties to function effectively and engage in training of candidates, running election campaigns and raising awareness about political issues. Member contributions and gifts from individuals, businesses or others form the basis of party funding. Both funding levels and the process of fundraising can affect the outcome of elections, determine the relationship between party leaders and members and affect the number of women elected. Parties with fewer assets may be limited in their campaign reach, reducing their chances of success in elections. When resources are scarce, it can be even tougher for women to finance their campaigns and engage in politics. You will find information about political party funding in this section.
