Summary:

In 2003, the Mediterranean Institute of Gender Studies launched the project, "Gender, Conflict and the Media: Working towards Egalitarianism and Peace," which focused on three main goals: to promote discussion of gender inequality and the ways that the media can support or challenge it; to foster change in the ways the media represent women and gender issues; and to work toward gender equality in the Cypriot media workplace. This handbook is the last phase of the project and aims to further these goals. It contains critical background information on gender and the media, as well as links and contact information for additional resources on the subject.
